Warden Tree Press Consideration Guidelines
Warden Tree Press will consider a limited number of submissions for publication each year. These fall into several specific categories. Please see below to get a feel for what we are looking for and determine if your book meets these requirements before querying your manuscript. Only completed projects will be considered.
-
Warden Tree Press is focused solely on prehistory, ancient history, and pre-Christian barbarian cultures from outside the urban centers and civilizations of the ancient world.
-
We're interested in horse stories, histories, practical stable management, and commonsense training methods based on classical principles.
-
We would like to be a home for literature that speaks to country life, farming, homesteading, animal husbandry, outdoorsmanship, and traditional crafts.
-
We are mainly interested in exploring, through fiction and nonfiction, the underlying Indo-European elements in various bodies of myth and folklore.
-
We are always seeking unusual books forgotten by time but deserving of a new audience.
-
We want to take readers on a different kind of journey, allowing them to explore the historical, anthropological, and natural world through a “barbarian” lens.

Warden Tree Press welcomes submissions from freethinking authors who share our passion for gritty, authentic rural and historical literature. We typically do not publish works in the genres of short fiction, poetry, romance, speculative fiction, faith-based themes, or contemporary sociopolitical issues. Authors whose primary interests are in these genres may find us to be a poor fit.
